This recipe for Chocolate-Cheese Squares, with its classic taste combo, is simple to put together and an absolutely delicious crowd-pleaser.

Directions

Chocolate Layer

  1. Mix first eight ingredients to form dough.

  2. Set aside 1 cup dough and add 2 tablespoons flour to it. Freeze that cup for half an hour. 

  3. Add chocolate chips to the rest of the batter. Spread on cookie sheet, and flatten with wet hands.

  4. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes.

Cheese Layer

  1. Mix all ingredients for second layer. Pour over baked first layer.

  2. Remove cup of frozen dough from the freezer and grate it evenly over the top of the cream cheese mixture. 

  3. Bake for an additional 35 minutes. Can be cut into squares or triangles.

Tips:

Optional: Can be drizzled with melted chocolate.

Variations:

Crumb topping can be omitted; it’s not as pretty, but it’s faster – and still delicious!

There are several types of cream cheese put out by all of the major dairy companies. All with top hecksherim. Tnuva, Tara, Gad, etc.

Yes! It can be made with 3 blocks of 8oz cream cheese.
