Directions

Prepare the Apple Slits

  1. Peel and core apples. Cut in half. Place flat side down onto cutting board. Slit tops as shown; do not cut through.

  2. Roll dough to a quarter-inch thickness. Cut into three- to four-inch circles. Place one apple half onto each dough circle.

  3. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 degreees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes.

Glaze

  1. Place apricot jam in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Brush over apples. Cool.

  2. Sprinkle liberally with confectioners’ sugar. Garnish with a cherry or grape and/or fresh green leaf.
