This fruity salad with wild rice is easy to prepare in advance, perfect for Shabbos meals. Prepare it with your choice of dressing.
1/2 cup wild rice
2 and 1/2 cups water
1 cup celery, sliced
8 ounces Glicks Pineapple Chunks, drained
1/2 cup green seedless grapes
8 ounces Gefen Mandarin Oranges, drained
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/4 teaspoon Gefen Garlic Powder
1/2 teaspoon Pereg White Pepper
1/8 cup oil
1/3 cup vinegar
3 tablespoons sugar
1/3 cup orange juice
1/4 cup oil
2 tablespoons Glicks Soy Sauce
Combine rice and water in a three-quart saucepan and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and cook, covered, for 45 minutes. Let stand for one hour. Fluff rice with fork, then cover tightly and let stand for five minutes. Drain any excess water. Allow to cool.
Combine rice with remaining salad ingredients
Combine ingredients for either dressing and pour over salad. Serve over bed of lettuce.
