1 tablespoon Gefen Dry Yeast
1 and 1/2 cups warm water
1 tablespoon Gefen Honey
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons Gefen Light Olive or canola oil
3 and 1/2 cups Shibolim Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 cup wheat germ
everything spice
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
salt
sesame seeds
poppy seeds
minced garlic
Dissolve yeast in water with honey in a bowl until bubbly.
Stir in salt, oil, and two cups flour. Beat until smooth. Add wheat germ and remaining flour to make a soft dough.
Knead for five minutes or until smooth and elastic. Let rise 45 minutes to one hour, until doubled.
Punch down dough and divide into 16 equal portions. Roll into 16-inch long ropes. Shape into pretzel twists or other shapes.
Transfer pretzels to greased baking sheets. Let rise 20 minutes. Brush glaze on top and sprinkle with desired topping.
Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
