Okay, fine, plus salt, but no one counts salt! These spare ribs are easy, delicious, and a great menu item to make in advance.
3 pounds (1.36 kilograms) bone-in spare ribs
1 large Vidalia onion
2/3 cup Manischewitz Honey
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar or Alfasi Cabernet Sauvignon or other dry red wine
1 tablespoon salt
Preheat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit (120 degrees Celsius).
Using the large holes on a box grater or food processor, grate the onion until you have two cups of grated onion. Mix with honey, balsamic vinegar, and salt.
Place ribs in a baking dish and pour sauce over the top. Cover tightly and bake three hours. Uncover and turn the ribs. Continue baking one to two hours until the meat is very soft.
