If you ever happen to be a guest at The Brewer’s Inn (aka my parents’ home) your experience is sure to be spectacular. Ever since I can remember guests at my parent’s house is a common sight. Should it be a winter Shabbos, a summer Shabbos or a weekly Thursday OPEN HOUSE supper night, heimishe Hungarian delicious food is on non-stop overflow mode. But one can never forget my Mom’s signature dessert. Its flavorful taste fills ones taste-buds with a swiveling tingy tangy sweetness and warmness. Have you ever heard of the expression “Chicken soup for the Soul?” Well in my home we constantly hear “Ahhh Apple Strawberry for the Soul!” This dessert wins EVERYONE’S heart!
8 Cortland apples
1 pack frozen strawberries
cinnamon
Abe’s Yorgood Pomegranate Ice Cream
Viennese crunch
Peel and cut the apples into medium size slices. Place apples in a 9×13 pan with strawberries. Sprinkle some cinnamon on top. Cover. Bake on 350F for 2 hours.
Fill dessert cup with warm apple strawberry. Place scoop of ice cream on top. Crush Viennese crunch to create a delicious crunch. Sprinkle on top of ice cream.
ENJOY TO THE LAST BIT!
