This is one of those recipes that just happened! I had snow peas and made them into a quick and delicious side dish. Then, one day, I decided to make it again and threw in chicken at the last minute. I’ve since made this with pepper steak too, and the results are always amazing. This recipe needs just a few minutes of prep and cook time and tastes delicious.
2 tablespoons Gefen Cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 pound chicken tenders or pepper steak
1/4 cup Glicks Soy Sauce
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 and 1/2 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon high-heat oil such as peanut or avocado
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic or 2 cloves chopped garlic
1 pint sliced mushrooms
1 pound snow peas, trimmed and cut in half
rice, for serving
Mix cornstarch, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl. Add meat or chicken and toss to coat.
In a smaller bowl, whisk soy sauce, red pepper, honey, and water and set aside.
Preheat a large frying pan to high heat. Make sure to have all your ingredients measured and ready because you will have to work quickly. Have a spoon or tongs nearby to keep stirring.
Put in oil and meat or chicken and sear to brown all sides. Remove from pan and set aside.
Put onion in the hot pan and sauté for one to two minutes until translucent. Add garlic and mushrooms and cook for three to four minutes until browned.
Add snow peas and stir for an additional two to three minutes.
Add the prepared sauce and bring to a boil.
Place meat or chicken back in pan and cover.
Cook for 15–20 minutes on medium-low, stirring every five minutes as needed.
Serve with rice.
