Sloppy joes are one of those kid favorites. The sauce is made with pantry ingredients and classically served in a bun or even a baguette. To balance out the meal, serve it with coleslaw or a garden salad and some pickles.

Ingredients

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

  • 2 teaspoons mustard

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 4 hamburger buns, for serving

Directions

1.

In a large skillet, heat oil. Add beef and cook over medium heat three to five minutes, until no longer pink. Drain.

2.

Stir in ketchup, water, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, then cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes. Serve on buns.
