Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of putting this together. With its fresh, light garlic and lemon flavors, it simply can’t be beat.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 4 to 5 (1-and-1/4 -to 1-and-1/2-inch-thick) salmon fillets

  • sea salt, to taste

  • onion powder, to taste

Marinade

  • 4 tablespoons avocado or canola oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped, or 3/4 tablespoon dried parsley flakes

  • zest of 1 lemon

Directions

Prepare the Salmon

1.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

2.

Place salmon fillets into prepared baking pan. Season with salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Rest seasoned fish for 10 minutes for flavors to meld.

3.

Prepare the marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together oil, garlic, parsley, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

4.

Brush marinade generously over salmon. Rest fish for five to 10 minutes.

5.

Bake for 15 to 17 minutes. Remove from oven; baste with marinade.

Tips:

To avoid cross contamination, wash and dry the basting brush that touched raw fish before using the brush again on the cooked fish.

Hi! Baste with marinade after it’s done means take the sauce around the fish and just spoon it over the done fish.

In the picture it looks like the pan is lined with parchment paper. It doesn’t say anything about this in the recipe. Does it need to be lined or not?

You definitely can line your pan but not necessary. It just allows for easier clean up 🙂

Very good, but too salty. Don’t trust those measurements.
