Beautiful as a party centerpiece … and delicious, too!
2 cups high-gluten flour
1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 ounce fresh yeast
2/3 cup lukewarm water
2 tablespoons Gefen Olive Oil
sesame seeds
extra oil, for brushing
Sift flour and salt together in a large bowl. Dig a small well in the center of the flour.
In a separate bowl, blend the yeast with the water until smooth. Pour the yeast into the center of the flour; add the olive oil, and mix to form a soft dough. Knead 8 to 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
Roll the dough into a rectangle, about 6 x 8-inches. Brush with olive oil, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until double in bulk.
Preheat oven to 400°F. Cut dough into two 3 x 4-inch rectangles. Cut each piece into ten 3-inch strips. Stretch each strip gently until it is about 12-inch long. Roll each breadstick in sesame seeds.
Place the breadsticks on lightly greased cookie sheets, spacing well apart. Lightly brush with olive oil. Let rise for 10 minutes.
Bake at 400°F for 15 to 20 minutes.

Flour? Can you use regular all purpose flour instead of high gluten?
I would recommend using bread flour or high-gluten flour. It makes better bread. You can use regular flour but it won’t be as fluffy.
