Submitted by Heny Reich This absolutely delicious (and most important, easy) recipe came in moment of inspiration one supper evening, after I ran out of ideas for chicken cutlets. This recipe has since become a supper favorite and has my kids licking their fingers and asking for more. The chicken is so soft and tender, and the sweet and tangy taste complements it beautifully.
10 thin sliced chicken cutlets
oil (for frying)
flour (for coating)
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water
1 and 1/2 TB vinegar
1/2 TB sugar
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Preheat oven to 400 f (200 c).
Coat chicken in flour.
Heat oil in frying pan. Fry chicken over medium-high heat, until partially done. About one minute each side. Transfer chicken to baking sheet.
Add all sauce ingredients to a container, cover and shake.
Pour over fried chicken.
Bake for 15 minutes (if fillets are thicker more minutes might be needed).
Serve warm with rice or bulgur.
