If you love Chinese chicken and broccoli you’ll absolutely love this meal! What’s even better, it takes less time to prepare than placing your takeout order.
1 and 1/2 to 2 pounds chicken breast
1/4 to 1/2 cup potato starch, cornstarch, or flour
2 cups Beleaves Frozen Broccoli Florets, slightly defrosted
4 cubes Dorot Gardens Frozen Garlic
2 cubes Dorot Gardens Frozen Ginger
1/4 cup Tuscanini Olive Oil
3 tablespoons soy sauce, can be low sodium
2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 cup water
2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
2 cups Pereg Jasmine Rice
4 cups plus 2 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut the chicken breast into thin, small cubes. Place into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Shake on top half of the flour and toss to coat the chicken. Use more flour or starch to fully coat each piece. Spread the chicken out evenly into the pan.
Place the broccoli florets over the top of the chicken. If they are big, cut them a bit smaller.
Mix together the sauce ingredients and pour evenly over the chicken and broccoli. Don’t mix. Tilt the pan to be sure it’s all covered in sauce.
Cover the pan tightly and bake 50 minutes.
Serve with baked jasmine rice.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix together in a baking dish. Cover tightly and bake 50 minutes.

such a great and tasty recipe! love that there’s no pots to wash…
hi! recipe says to coat chicken in 1/2 the flour and then use more to coat fully. so does that mean that to use the rest of the flour or is there flour in the sauce recipe? also has anyone tried this with only soy sauce and not teriyaki? tysm!
Half of the flour goes on the chicken is tossed to coat. Then add the rest of the flour to coat again if it’s not fully coated nicely. It goes on the chicken not in the sauce.
If you don’t use teriyaki then add
A bit of honey and more soy sauce.
this was really easy and delicious! chicken was super moist and broccoli was perfectly cooked. I did uncover for the last 10 minutes to get a little color. tip: I made extra sauce and refrigerated it so one night when we needed to put together a quick dinner it was even easier than it originally was! thanks so much keep the great recipes coming!!!
Wow great idea so glad to hear!
can I freeze this after cooking?
Yes, but it’s best enjoyed fresh out of the oven.
I made this for supper and everyone loved it!! I actually made it with cauliflower as opposed to broccoli, and it was delicious. I will definitely make this again!
All the reviews of this recipe are amazing! So happy that everyone enjoyed it!
Yum so glad to hear!!
so yummy!! thanks for sharing!!
moist, flavorful and super easy! win win
This recipe is amazing!! it’s easy and so delicous! it’s definately going on my supper rotation! Thank you Rena!
The rice did not nearly cook in 50 minutes. Is anything off with the directions?
The directions look perfect! I’d say to make sure your rice-to-water ratio is what the recipe calls for- also make sure you’re oven is pre-heated to the correct temp. and the pan is tightly covered!
Let us know if that helps!
I’ve been struggling to find a way to cook white meat. I tried this recipe and OMG, the texture was amazing. Soft and succulent. I can’t wait to try this method with different sauces! Thank you!
Rena is a recipe genius 🙂 We’re so happy that you’re enjoying this one!
1 cup of water seems to make the sauce really watery/watered down. Is it possible it’s supposed to be a smaller amount?
No, that’s correct
the sauce thickens as it cooks thanks to the flour on the chicken.
I also found that all the water made the sauce way more bland than I anticipated given all the other flavorful ingredients. I’d like to try it again with less water and see if it has a stronger flavor. I’m always a big fan of Supper Again recipes, so I want this one to work for me also!
@Rina was the teriyaki you used a glaze type of teriyaki or thin? You want to use one of the thicker teriyaki type of sauces. Also maybe add a bit more soy sauce. Or like you said you can try with less water but I’ve made it several times without any issues. Hope it works out next time!
