Creamed spinach is one of those homey, comforting foods! It’s easy, quick, filling, and a really good iron boost. My mother used to serve this on top of toast. Enjoy in good health!
1 (20-ounce) package frozen spinach, thawed
1/4 cup butter
3 tablespoons Glicks Flour
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 teaspoon Gefen Salt (or to taste)
1/4 teaspoon Pereg Pepper (or to taste)
dash of nutmeg (or to taste)
dash of cayenne pepper (or to taste)
Cook spinach according to package directions. Drain and squeeze out all liquid.
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat without allowing it to burn. Add flour to melted butter and stir until smooth. Add cream and heat for two to three minutes until sauce thickens, stirring constantly. Add spinach and seasonings. Cook two to four minutes, stirring often. Serve hot.
