I first tasted this cake at Sarah L.’s house. She told me she had received the recipe from Zissel S. Hoping to find the original source, I called Zissel, who told me she had gotten it from Becky P. I called Becky P., and that’s where the trail ended because she didn’t remember where the recipe had come from. Good recipes simply get around.
1 cup oil
2 teaspoons Gefen Pure Vanilla Extract
3 eggs
1 cup Kedem Apple Juice
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon Haddar Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup Haddar Applesauce
2 teaspoons Gefen Cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a Bundt pan very well.
In a large bowl, whisk together oil, vanilla, eggs, and apple juice well. In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix to combine.
Pour three fourths of the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
Prepare the cinnamon swirl. Add brown sugar, applesauce, and cinnamon to remaining batter. Pour over white batter and swirl slightly.
Bake for one hour, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Delicious cake!
Can I use orange juice instead of apple?
Sure
Substitute Apple What can I do to substitute the apple from the cake? My husband doesnt like anything with apple or orange in it.
Most fruit juice would work as a substitute and most fruit purees would be a substitute for the apple sauce.
Healthy version? Did anyone ever try a healthy version? Maybe half whole wheat and less sugar?
Regular pan? Can i bake this in a regular pan? Which size woul you recommend?
– I Just made it- I used loaf pans and i topped it with a basic struesel topping before i baked it. I used almond milk… its moist, yum, easy… a real winner:)
If it calls for a bundt and you used a loaf, you can probably use a “regular” pan too. Just watch it to make sure it doesn’t over bake.
Moist Cinnamon Swirl Bundt What’s a good glaze recipe for this cake?
Watch this video from Esti. Worth seeing for a great glaze.
Mixer or hand? Does this recipe need a mixer or can I do it by hand? The recipe doesn’t specify. Thank you.
By hand should be no problem.
substitute? What can I substitute for the apple juice? Water? Soy milk?
I would do rice milk. Maybe even a vanilla flavored one.
Thanks! I just tried it and it came out delicious with Rice Dream as a substitute.
Amazing!
Delicious cake. Always gets compliments, but It was too sweet the first time I made it so I always put a half a cup less sugar. I usually don’t do that to cakes but I felt it was necessary.
how do I make the glaze?
Very good! Very good! I mixed it by hand and it was fine. It was finished before we were 🙂
Very popular I’ve been asked for the recipe for this about as many times as I’ve made it.
I personally did not like the way it tasted with icing, so I leave that off.
Thanks for sharing! We are so happy to hear that people enjoyed it!
Yummy!! Besides for the entire building smelling yummy. The cake is amazing too!
Amazing!
Finally! I am always looking to rotate my bundt cake recipes as I make one each week for shabbos. I’ve tried other cinnamon ones over the years with little success. Finally this one hit the nail on the head! Perfect, moist and delic.
