how much vanilla sugar? how much vanilla sugar?
The recipe doesn’t call for vanilla sugar. It asks for extract.
The recipe is based on Israeli ingredients. One packet of vanilla sugar is 2 teaspoons, so 2 packets is 4 teaspoons…
Mixer? The instructions don’t specify if I need to use an electric mixer or if I can combine the ingredients by hand.
Based on the ingredients I would say either is fine.
I would say an electric mixer would probably be the best. Usually when recipe has the option of doing it by hand, than it says mix by hand. So if it doesn’t say than it needs an elctric mixer
Absolutely delicious!
Missing ingredient? Seems like this recipe is missing boiling water as an ingredient. This recipe is in the Bais Yaakov cookbook and it calls for 3/4 cup boiling water. This ingredient is not listed here. I made it as the recipe here thinking it is some kind of variation and it came out like a brownie/cookie but not a cake 🙁
Hi- Thanks for bringing this to our attention, we will definitely take a look at the recipe.
