These sticky poppers are made by preparing a homemade maple bourbon sauce and then topping the fried chicken with Sweet and Spicy Candied Popcorn. Ingredients

Chicken

  • 1 pound chicken cutlets, cut into cubes or slices

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • sprinkle of garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup flour

  • 3 to 4 eggs, beaten

  • oil, for frying

Sauce

  • 1/3 cup bourbon

  • 1/4 cup Gefen Maple Syrup

  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce

  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

Sweet and Spicy Candied Popcorn

  • sprinkle of cayenne pepper

Directions

Prepare the Chicken

1.

Heat a medium saucepan halfway full with oil.

Combine flour and spices in a shallow plate. Place beaten eggs in a second plate. Dip chicken pieces into flour, then, eggs, then flour again.

3.

Once the oil is hot, fry the chicken. When golden, remove to a paper-towel-lined plate.

Prepare the Maple Bourbon Sauce

1.

In a pot, over medium flame, mix all ingredients well and heat until it bubbles. Pour over fried chicken.

Notes:

If you are serving a lot of chicken, double the sauce amounts.

Prepare the Popcorn

1.

Combine popcorn with maple syrup and cayenne pepper.

2.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes. Serve with Maple Bourbon Chicken Poppers.
