This is the ultimate gourmet dinner. No one will ever guess it took you five minutes to prepare. You can use butternut squash instead of, or in addition to, the sweet potatoes. You can try this recipe using chicken cutlets instead of lamb, although nothing can compare to the melt-in- your-mouth taste of lamb after it has cooked for six hours.

Ingredients

Sweet Potatoes

  • 3 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into circles

  • 1 cup orange juice

  • 6 tablespoons Gefen Honey

  • 3 teaspoons salt

Lamb Chops

  • 2/3 cup flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • black pepper, to taste

Directions

Prepare the Lamb

1.

Place sweet potato slices on the bottom of the slow cooker.

2.

Combine flour, salt, cinnamon, black pepper, and garlic powder in a plastic bag. Place one lamb chop in the bag with the flour mixture and shake until it is fully coated with flour. Remove from bag and place lamb chop on top of sweet potatoes. Repeat with all lamb chops

3.

In a small bowl, combine orange juice, honey, and salt. Mix well and pour over lamb chops. Cook on high for six hours.

Hi Adina,
The liquid is actually poured over the lamb chops. I hope this is helpful!

not a sweet potato fan This recipe sounds scrumptious, but my husband hates sweet potato, as well as squash. Do you think I can substitute potatoes for the sweet potatoes?
Also, I’m out of the house for 7 hours, not 6? Should I add more sauce, or it’ll just be tasty and well-cooked with an extra hour?

The recipe should work with regular potatoes but you’d need to adjust the cooking time. I would just add more liquid to ensure that it doesn’t burn or get dried out.
