A quick, easy, and delicious chicken dinner that will quickly become a family favorite. If following directions for the Instant Pot, you can cook the chicken and rice in the same pot.
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
salt
pepper
1 cup Gefen Honey
1/2 cup Gefen Soy Sauce
1/2 cup diced onion
1/4 cup Heaven & Earth Ketchup
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (could also use olive oil or canola oil)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional – doesn’t really add heat, just adds more flavor)
4 teaspoons cornstarch dissolved in 6 tablespoons water
sesame seeds
2 cups brown jasmine rice
2 cups water
Place your chicken in the bottom of the Instant Pot.
In a small bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, onion, ketchup, oil, garlic and pepper flakes. Pour over chicken, put your Instant Pot lid on and seal.
Cook on the meat setting for 20 minutes and then quick release once the 20 minutes is up (see note). Remove chicken from pot, leave sauce.
Dissolve four teaspoons of cornstarch in six tablespoons of water in a small bowl and pour into your Instant Pot. Stir to combine with sauce. Push the saute button and cook sauce for about five minutes or until slightly thickened.
Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces, then return to pot and toss with sauce before serving. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve over rice or noodles. You can also sprinkle more red pepper flakes on top if you want more heat.
Add rice and water to your Instant Pot. Seal with the lid and push the Rice button. It will cook for 10 minutes, then quick release. You will have PERFECT rice!

How much chicken? How many pounds of chicken is this?
I think it would be around 2 lbs.
No instant pot Can this be made without an instant pot?
If you scroll down you will find directions for making it in a slow cooker.
If using a crockpot. How would I change the recipe for cooking for shabbat lunch ( ~19 hours of cooking)?
I would start off by mixing step #4 on the stove top. Then adding the raw chicken and sauce in the crock pot and turn on right before Shabbat on low.
Can this recipe be made in a crockpot? If so, how can it be adjusted.
Yes, it could!
Honey Sesame Chicken Came out yum with a rich flavor, tasted as good as the picture looked!
Did it in a regular pot without removing the chicken and turned out incredibly delicious!
Would put a bit less honey next time as it was too sweet for me.
Great feedback for those who don’t have an insta pot.
