Say goodbye to the dry, heavily spiced honey cake of yesteryear! I’ve taken the ultimate brownie — all gooey and fudgy inside — and turned it into a must-have Rosh Hashanah treat!

Yields one 8 inch (20 centimeter) pan

40m 10
Easy Vegetarian Pescatarian Parve

Contains: Gluten, Egg, Wheat

Directions

Prepare the Blondies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius). Grease an eight-inch (20-centimeter) square dish with cooking spray.

  2. In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a second bowl, combine the oil, honey, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until incorporated. Pour the batter into the baking dish and top with apple rings.

  3. Bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, but the blondie is still gooey on the inside. Cool completely before slicing into squares.

  4. Drizzle with caramel, if desired.
