Pot stickers are an Asian dumpling that are folded in a unique fan shape and fried. In this mashup recipe, the pot stickers hold gefilte fish inside!
1 tablespoon Gefen Sesame Oil
4 mushrooms, chopped fine
1 scallion (green part only), sliced thin
2 cubes Gefen Frozen Ginger
2 cubes frozen garlic
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3 pieces gefilte fish, mashed
Sauté mushrooms and scallions in sesame oil until no liquid remains and the mushrooms begin to caramelize.
Add ginger and garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add soy sauce and cook for 30 seconds. Remove from flame and add mashed gefilte fish. Let cool.
Add a teaspoon of the mixture to the center of a wonton wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper and fold over.
When all the mixture is used up, prepare a large frying pan with two tablespoons of olive oil on a medium flame and lay as many pot stickers as you can without overlapping. Fry until the bottoms begin to brown.
Add 1/2 cup of water to the pan and cover and let cook for five minutes until fully cooked. Serve with a soy dipping sauce.
