Easy Chocolate Lotus Cake

Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 and 3/4 cups flour

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 3/4 cups cola

  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/2 cup oil

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

  • 1 cup boiling water

Cream Filling

  • 16 ounces non dairy whip topping

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 3 tablespoons lotus cream

Directions

Prepare the Cake

1.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease the pan (see below for specific pan).

Add all ingredients of cake together mix well. Pour batter into greased circle pan. (You can do three separate pans or one, and cut the cake into slices after you bake). Put in the oven for around 35 minutes. It might need a little longer.

Prepare the Cream

1.

Beat all the cream ingredients together until peaks show. (I sometimes add more lotus for color.)

Assemble the Cake

1.

Layer one, cream, layer two, cream, layer 3, top with lotus cookies or how you like! Enjoy!

I’m so sorry! there must have been a typo. The third ingredient says cola it’s not cola it’s cocoa.

omg that’s crazy!! I think they’d better change it to save anymore people wasting a lot of time, energy and ingredients!

is there a missing ingredient?? I’m so upset I just made the cake twice and both ended in the bin biggest flop ever!!!
