These delicious jam and nut-filled bars are a European treat, easy, but oh, so good.
3 sticks margarine
1 and 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon Gefen Vanilla Extract
3 and 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1-12 oz. jar Tuscanini Raspberry Jam
1 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined.
Spread 3/4’s of batter evenly in 10×15-inch baking pan. Spread jam over dough; sprinkle with walnuts.
Mix remaining dough with 1/4 cup remaining flour and crumble on top of jam. Bake for 35 minutes. Cool and cut into squares or bars.
Mix in three and a half cups of flour and the salt, gradually, until thick batter is formed.
