I had some salads lined up neatly on my counter with the dressings next to the salad bowls. An eager helper offered to dress the salads, and somehow two of the salads and dressings got swapped, and a cabbage salad ended up with the classic mushroom-lettuce salad dressing (you know this one!). The result was amazing. Several people came over to me, saying, “Whoa, what was that cabbage salad!” So you see, you can totally mix and match the classics in your fridge, and you just might like the swapped version better than the original.
1 10-ounce (280-gram) bag coleslaw mix
1/4 cup toasted almonds
1/4 cup roasted, salted sunflower seeds
1 pepper, cut into matchsticks
1 cucumber, cut into matchsticks
1/2 cup Glicks Ketchup
1/2 cup Gefen Vinegar
2 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons water
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Combine all salad ingredients together in a bowl.
Combine dressing ingredients together and mix.
Pour dressing over salad and serve.
