These brownies are a little different than your typical brownies. They are extra thick, moist, chocolatey and nutty! The addition of the walnuts adds amazing texture and crunch. These cut beautifully, making them perfect to serve as squares.
Yield: 2 dozen squares
6 ounces margarine
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
4 ounces baking chocolate, melted
1 and 1/3 cups Mishpacha Flour
1 teaspoon Haddar Baking Powder
1 and 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped or ground
2 teaspoons Gefen Vanilla Extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
Cream margarine and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Reduce speed and add rest of ingredients.
Pour into a nine- x 13-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 minutes. Cool. Cut into two-inch squares.
Optional- Pipe some parve frosting like this Caramel Frosting on top of each bar and add sprinkles for a touch of elegance!
