These chocolate-cheese squares are the perfect hybrid for someone who loves both chocolate and cheesecake! Combining these two flavors into one is sure to be a crowd-pleaser, and is an excellent addition to a Shavuot kiddush or a dairy brunch. Minimal effort with delicious results!

1/2 pound butter
1 and 3/4 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon Gefen Vanilla
4 ounces melted chocolate
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon Haddar Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1 cup sugar
4 cups cottage cheese
2 teaspoons Gefen Vanilla
4 ounces melted butter
4 tablespoons Gefen Cornstarch
4 eggs
In a large mixer bowl, cream butter and sugar.
Gradually add eggs, one at a time.
Add vanilla and chocolate.
Sift in flour, baking powder and salt.
Add walnuts and mix slowly until smooth.
Pour half of batter into a 10- by 16-inch baking pan. Reserve remaining batter.
Blend or process all filling ingredients until smooth. Pour over cake batter.
Scoop remaining cake batter over cheese. Smooth batter with wet spatula.
Bake for an hour at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut into two-inch squares or one- and- a- half-inch bars.
