  • 2 medium onions, minced

  • 3 tablespoons oil

  • 2 celery stalks, diced

  • 1 and 1/2 pounds chicken nuggets

  • 1 and 1/2 cups water

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup rice

  • 1/2 pound frozen peas

Directions

Chicken a la king

1.

Sauté onions in oil until golden brown.

2.

Add celery and chicken and sauté for 15 minutes.

3.

Add water and spices, bring to a boil.

4.

Add rice and cook for 15-20 minutes or until water is absorbed

5.

Add frozen peas, cook for additional two minutes.

Variation:

Proceed as above, omitting chicken nuggets; use breaded, fried nuggets. Add to cooked vegetables and rice and bake for 20-30 minutes until thoroughly reheated.
