My daughter, who watched as I whipped up this dish, tasted it and exclaimed, “This should be called ‘fab in 20.’ ” Indeed, it’s an absolutely fabulous dinner. Prepared in one pot and ready in 20 minutes. What could be better?
1/2 pound (225 grams) string beans, sliced in 2-inch (5-cm) pieces
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons Haddar Less-Sodium Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon Gefen Sesame Oil
3 cloves garlic, crushed, or 3 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
1 pound (1/2 kilogram) thin chicken breasts, sliced in strips
1/3 cup roasted salt-and-pepper cashews
Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Add string beans and blanch for two minutes. Drain and run under cold water to stop the cooking process.
In a small bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, water, cider vinegar, cornstarch, chili sauce, and ground ginger. Whisk until totally blended. Set aside.
Heat sesame oil in a large frying pan. Add crushed garlic and stir-fry for 10 seconds. Add in chicken strips and stir constantly until chicken is cooked through. Add in green beans and sauce. Stir constantly until mixture boils and thickens, about two minutes. Stir in cashews and serve.

how does this freeze? (minus the green beans)
You can just pop it in the freezer and when ready to defrost, leave this dish at a cool temperature in the refrigerator. You can also use the defrost setting on your microwave.
Using frozen beans Should I skip the first step of cooking & blanching of the beans if I use frozen green beans for this?
Thanks!
I would sautee them a drop to get the extra liquid out.
