Ingredients

Carnivore’s Party Mix

  • 4 ounces beef fry

  • 4 cups Chex cereal

  • 3 cups coarsely broken sourdough pretzels

  • 2 sleeves Melba toast, broken into shards

  • 1 cup honey roasted peanuts

  • 1/4 cup oil

  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard

  • 3 tablespoons honey

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon mustard powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Dust

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons mustard powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

1.

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Lay out the beef fry slices in a single layer on a rack over a parchment-lined baking sheet.

2.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside to cool. Reduce oven temperature to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

3.

In a large bowl, combine the cereal, pretzels, toast, and peanuts.

4.

In another bowl, stir together the oil, mustard, honey, onion powder, garlic powder, mustard powder, and salt.

5.

Pour the mustard mixture over the snack mix and stir to coat everything evenly.

6.

Chop the beef fry and add to the mix.

7.

Pour onto the parchment with the beef fry drippings and spread into an even layer. Bake for one hour, stirring every 20 minutes.

8.

While the snack mix bakes, stir together the dust ingredients. Sprinkle over the snack mix just as it comes out of the oven and toss to coat. Allow to cool and store in an airtight container.

Thank you Esty Wolbe – I made this for my shaloch manos and it was a HUGE hit!! everyone loved it!!!!
I did use corned beef instead of beef fry – so i think it was a little dryer but it was FANTASTIC!!

if I want to keep it parve and leave out the beef fry, is there something I should substitute in terms of species for flavor?
