When we have burgers for dinner, my wife often turns hers into a fully-loaded burger salad. You might not get that feeling of holding the burger in two hands and sinking your teeth into the bun, but you do get a delicious salad with all of the same flavors. This salad is great with or without the burger; the decision is yours!

Ingredients

Burger in a Salad

  • 1 head romaine lettuce

  • 1 large tomato, sliced

  • 1 large portobello mushroom

  • 1/2 white or red onion (not yellow), thinly sliced

  • 1 avocado

  • 1 burger, grilled

  • cooked beef fry, for topping (optional)

  • pickles (optional; I like bread and butter)

Directions

1.

Drizzle olive oil over tomatoes and mushrooms and grill.

2.

Cut all salad components into bite-size pieces and dress with either garlic mayo, honey mustard, or any olive oil vinaigrette. Toss and serve.

Notes:

The salad is pictured here with a focus on presentation; however, I recommend cutting all the components into bite-sized pieces.
