Try to ensure your beef is fresh as possible. The mushrooms add a great texture and taste. Sorry, but there aint no comparing homemade to frozen burgers. These are in a league of their own.
2 and 1/2 pounds (1 kilogram) good quality lean ground beef
2 portabella mushrooms, cleaned
1 medium onion
2 egg whites or 1/3 cup Haddar Egg Whites
1 teaspoon ground parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground Gefen Black Pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Heaven & Earth Ketchup
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Pulse the mushrooms and onion in a food processor to chop them finely.
Place all ingredients into a large bowl and mix until the ingredients are just combined. Press meat gently into the shape of patties; this recipe will make about 6–8.
Heat grill to high and cook for about 4 minutes on each side for medium-done burgers. Don’t overcook them or they will dry out. Let sit for 6–8 minutes before eating.

question if i don’t have a grill pan, then what are my other options to cook these in?
YOu could fry them and you could also bake them. Be careful with the extra fat that runs off. Adjust baking temp and use a meat thermometer till you have achieved the done ness you desire.
mushroom if we dont like mushrooms, can i leave it out or it adds flavor? tks
Mushrooms really do impart great flavor. Especially in the case of this recipe. Portabellos are delicious. They are also meaty in texture so I doubt the recipe would yield the same result without them.
Name for this recipe says it all!!! I just made these burgers. I skipped the mushrooms cuz i didnt wanna bother unpacking the food processor. It was delicious! My kids, husband, and self all loved it. I am a burger fan & i havent made such great tasting proffessional burgers ever yet.
Thanks you Estee!
Thanks so much Chavy! I am coming over for dinner.
