Kreplach are like little pockets of flavor. Put them in your soup for a more exciting bowl, or eat the fried ones on their own. Or do both, life is short!

Watch Yussi make these easy Kreplach here!

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1/2 pound cooked meat of your choice, chopped

  • scallions, diced

  • 3/4 tablespoon salt

  • 1/2 tablespoon black pepper

For Boiling

For Frying

Wine Pairing

Pacifica Pinot Noir

Directions

For the Filling

1.

Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger for five minutes on low flame.

2.

Add mushrooms and sauté for 10 more minutes.

3.

Add your cooked meat and continue sautéing for five more minutes. Let filling cool in a bowl.

For Boiled Kreplach

1.

Lightly brush two corners of a wonton wrapper with beaten egg.

2.

Fill with filling, and fold dough over on a diagonal to create a triangle.

Add to pot of boiling water. Remove gently when it swims up top, and enjoy in your favorite soup.

For Fried Kreplach

1.

Lightly brush with egg two corners of a spring roll wrapper cut into four pieces.

2.

Fill with filling, and fold dough over on a diagonal to create a triangle.

3.

Fry in oil preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit until golden brown, and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.
