The first thought that crossed my mind when I tasted this amazing pulled chicken was, Why haven’t I tried this until now — this is awesome! Soft and juicy, and with super flavor, this chicken truly tempts you for second and even third helpings. And I love how you can just dump all of the ingredients into a Crockpot and forget about it!
2 pounds (910 grams) chicken breasts, cleaned and rinsed
salt, for seasoning
1 cup barbecue sauce, such as Gefen, any flavor
3 heaping tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Heaven and Earth Ketchup
1 tablespoon oil
4 tablespoons Italian dressing (I used lite)
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon apple cider or white wine vinegar
Place chicken into a slow cooker and sprinkle lightly with salt. In a small mixing bowl, combine remaining ingredients and stir well. Pour sauce over chicken and cover slow cooker. Cook on high heat for three hours.
Remove chicken from pot and shred with two forks. Return to pot and stir to combine with sauce. Cook for an additional 15 minutes and serve.
To serve, top bread with chicken. We liked it over frank buns. It’s great over rice or mashed potatoes as well.
