Baked Apples with Walnuts and Raspberry Syrup

Serve on a platter, along with some cut up fresh fruit, for an elegant dessert.

Ingredients

Baked Apples with Walnuts and Raspberry Syrup

  • 6 apples (I prefer to use firm eating apples, even Granny Smith)

  • broken walnut pieces

  • raisins

  • raspberry syrup concentrate

Directions

1.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Peel the top half of the apple only, and core halfway down the center. Place into a lined 9×13-inch pan. Sprinkle the hole with cinnamon and stuff with both walnut pieces and raisins. Drizzle generously with the raspberry syrup.

3.

Bake covered for 10 minutes and then uncover for about another 20 minutes.

Notes:

The length of baking time will vary according to the kind of apple you use, so check them often.
