This super-easy recipe will give you the “That’s-great-can-I-have-the-recipe” response – and it takes almost no time to prepare. For those nights when you have absolutely no time to spare in the kitchen, pair this chicken with Quickie String Beans.
1 chicken, cut into eighths
1 onion, cut into 1/4-inch slices
1 clove garlic, chopped fine or garlic powder or 1 cube Gefen Frozen Garlic
1/2 cup Glicks Ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon Glicks Soy Sauce (use a wheat-free version for gluten-free)
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
Sauté onions with garlic until translucent. Add brown sugar, ketchup, and soy sauce and simmer until sugar melts.
Spread this mixture over chicken. Roast in hot oven (400 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 45 minutes.

Good recipe, but the title is a little misleading. Yummy it definitely is, but anything involving sautéed onions doesn’t take 5 minutes…
covered or uncovered?
I would cook it covered and then uncover it for the last 10-15 min.
chicken on the bone isn’t cooked in 45 minutes
I regularly bake chicken on the bone for around 1 hour, at 180 – 200 C. That includes the thigh. Drumsticks will easily bake in 45 minutes on 400F. It can also depend on your oven.
But this is baked uncovered so that’s why the baking time is shorter.
Yummy 5 minute chicken It says saute onions with garlic until translucent. Add brown sugar, ketchup and soy sauce and simmer until sugar melts but it doesn’t call for sugar.
It means until the brown sugar melts.
5 minute chicken was a hit! made this recipe for supper! Was so simple and delicious and loved by all!
Fat and yummy are two prerequisites for a great meal. Thanks!
