This Shabbos and YomTov favorite is an easy-to-make side dish. The combination of sweetened cooked sliced apples and the soft fluffy topping is the ultimate comfort food. This apple kugel will not disappoint!
8 large Cortland apples, peeled and sliced
6 eggs, separated
1 cup sugar, divided
4 tablespoons Gefen Potato Starch
1/2 cup Gefen Ground Walnuts
Arrange apple slices on bottom of greased eight- x 10-inch baking pan. Sprinkle half a cup sugar over apples.
Beat egg whites until frothy. Gradually add remaining half cup sugar and continue beating until stiff.
Add yolks, potato starch and walnuts and combine gently. Pour over apples.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes to one hour.
