Summer is quickly slipping away, and I’m looking for ways to make the most of it! A picnic is a great way to enjoy the weather and do one of the things we all love to do – eat delicious food! Tirat Zvi makes it super easy to add protein to almost ANYTHING with their delicious turkey strips. I’ve created these four picnic dishes to highlight the 3 flavors. They are ready to eat straight out of the package, so buy a few extras for snacking while you prep!

Shawarma Turkey Platter

Shawarma is one of our weekly dinners. This cute little board makes it easy for everyone to pick and choose what they would like to top theirs with! Feel free to customize the board with any toppings you enjoy.

Yields: 6-8 servings

Ingredients:

Israeli pickles

Mini or regular pitas

Techina and/or hummus

Israeli salad

Kalamata olives

Frozen French fries, cooked according to package directions

2 packages Tirat Zvi Shawarma Turkey Strips

Directions:

1. Assemble the ingredients on a board.

Summer Turkey Rolls

These summer rolls are so light and refreshing!! The rice paper rolls are a little trickier to fold than your usual wrap, but come together really nicely with a little practice. You can fill them with any vegetables you’d like. I’ve included my favorites below!

Yields: 3 servings

Ingredients:

6 rice paper sheets

6 large pieces romaine lettuce

1 package Tirat Zvi Oven Roasted Turkey strips

1 cup shredded carrots

2 Persian cucumbers, cut into strips

Handful cilantro leaves, optional

Sesame teriyaki sauce for dipping

Directions:

1. Prepare a work station where you will be making your rolls. Have all your fillings close by.

2. Prepare a tray or shallow dish that is large enough to dip the rice paper sheets into. Fill with cold water.

3. Dip a rice paper sheet into the water for a few seconds until all sides have been dampened.

4. Place the fillings on the third of the sheet closest to you. Don’t overfill, as the sheets can rip easily, and keep the sides clear. Start to roll by lifting the bottom wrapper closest to you and pulling it over the fillings, giving it a little tuck so it’s nice and compact. Then fold the two sides in to close the ends off and continue rolling lengthways until the top. Repeat the process to make the remaining rolls. Serve with dipping sauce.
