With the grass outside green, the trees full of leaves, the flowers in bright colors, and the crisp smell of fresh air, the outdoors in summertime is truly delightful. So why not bring these beautiful colors and summery atmosphere inside?!?

This Shabbat, treat yourself to colorful, delicious summer salads that you and your family will love!

Now to plan the rest of the meal! We’ve got you covered with The Perfect Shabbat Menu for Summer.

  1. Grilled Corn and Blueberry Salad by Miriam (Pascal) Cohen
Regular corn salad tastes great, but once you grill the corn for your salad, you’ll never go back to the old way! This salad is bursting with flavors — sweet, savory, tangy, smoky — it’s all there, and it tastes so good together.

  2. Taco Chip Salad from the Dining In Cookbook
Fresh garlic gives a zesty tang to this salad, but if you do not have any available or are not a garlic fan (gasp!), you can use the powder for a gentler touch of garlic. If you love garlic, use two crushed cloves!

  3. Cauliflower Israeli Salad by Chanie Nayman
This is the salad I make when I want something bright and fresh, which is pretty much necessary to go alongside every heavy Pesach meal.

  4. Delicious and Different Salad with Lemon-Mint Dressing by Faigy Grossman
Since I needed a recipe with oil as a substantial ingredient, I automatically thought of dressing. Going with my sister Itty’s novel idea of lemon-mint flavoring, we played around with this dressing and salad until we were perfectly satisfied with the results. Since this was a competition, the recipe had to be absolutely delicious, and I must say that there was no salad left to serve at the seudah! We tweaked and tasted (and tasted and tasted…) until it was gone! A fantastic combination — give it a try.

  5. Bright and Fresh Slaw by Michal Frischman
This quick and easy slaw can be prepped and ready in a few minutes.

  6. Grilled Chicken ’n Apricot Chop-Chop Salad by Chavi Feldman
These amazing summer flavors make your taste buds come alive in this hearty salad, which doubles as a delectable meal-in-one. Quick to prepare and even quicker to eat, this is sure to become your next favorite!

  7. Cold Cut Salad with Maple Dressing by Brynie Greisman
When I first created this recipe and my picky teenager said it was “ma’adan” — literally a delicacy — I knew it was good to go. Hope you’ll all enjoy it as much as we did. Feel free to double the salad as needed.

  8. Watermelon Farro Feta and Arugula Salad by Kosher.com Staff
Farro is a nutty whole grain that offers a more complex nutritional profile than white rice or pasta. Combined with the bite of arugula, sweet watermelon, salty feta cheese, and crunchy toasted almonds, it makes for a very tasty salad. A drizzle of balsamic takes it over the top. 9. Very-Berry Summer Salad with Grilled Chicken and Spiced Maple Walnuts by Chavi Feldman
This amazing combo of spinach, berries, and tasty grilled chicken really takes summer seriously! And let’s not forget to mention the dangerously addictive sweet and spicy walnut topping. When testing this recipe, I enjoyed this as a delicious light dinner, but it was so good, I even got past my fleishig-phobia and had the leftovers for lunch the next day.

  10. Grilled Watermelon-Basil Salad by Michal Frischman
Chanie was kvelling about her super-fresh fridge-clean-out salad, and that got me in the mood of endives. I knew I wanted them to balance the sweetness of the melon!

  11. Hearts of Palm Salad from the Dining In Cookbook
We love this for Seudah Shlishis, but it’s good anytime.

  12. Arugula Salad with Summer Veg and Winter Fruit by Rivki Rabinowitz
I give you: a salad that embodies the maelstrom of emotions (read: resentment, anger, frustration) I feel going into a million months of cold, dark Canadian winter, coupled with the heady sense of nostalgia for zenned-out barbecue nights never taken for granted (read: Canadian summer is one week long…give or take).

  13. Fruity Springy Salad by Chanie Nayman
I love serving salad with fruit in it during the summer months. It just feels right. Go crazy, and don’t be afraid to put your favorites inside this salad.

  14. Colorful Corn Salad by Elky Friedman
This easy and tasty salad always goes over well. It’s bright, vibrant, and full of flavor! It actually reminds me of summer since I usually serve it either at shalosh seudos or at my Sunday barbecues.

  15. Asian Slaw by Chanie Nayman
Summer to me means salad, and lots of it! I love making a bunch of salads for Shabbos, which I can serve at the main meals and then at Shalosh Seudos.

  16. Spring Chicken Salad by Naomi Nachman

Naomi is making the most of her leftovers in quarantine, and she’ll show you how to do the same. Don’t waste that delicious soup chicken! Instead, try these two incredible recipes that will bring the tastes of Spring and

    Summer into your home.

  17. Grilled Chicken and Peach Summer Salad by Estee Kafra
Nothing says summer like a good fresh salad. Grilled peaches and grilled chicken just shout “summer!”
