Capri, Woodmere, NY
Nestled in the heart of Woodmere, NY, Capri has quickly emerged as a standout in the kosher dining scene of the Five Towns. If you’re on the hunt for the perfect brunch spot, look no further—Capri is it. With an impressive menu that caters to a variety of tastes, this cozy gem is a must-visit.
Having visited Capri three times since they opened in March 2024, I can confidently say that nearly everything they offer is worth savoring. The ambiance is small but inviting, and the service is a combo of ordering by counter and waiter-delivered food. Whether you’re starting your day with one of their expertly crafted coffee drinks or indulging in a leisurely brunch, Capri has you covered.
Their coffee items are a great way to kickstart your morning. For a refreshing and flavorful twist, try the Cinnamon Lovers iced latte. This iced latte perfectly blends the robust flavor of coffee with a hint of cinnamon, creating a delightful drink that’s both invigorating and comforting.
Pair your brew with their fluffy pancakes or an egg sandwich, and you’ve got a breakfast that’s hard to beat. The pancakes are light and airy, served with berries, bananas, and maple syrup. The Eggs Benedict is a delightful brunch classic, featuring poached eggs atop toasted English muffins, draped in a rich and creamy hollandaise sauce. This dish is elevated with the addition of fresh spinach and smoked salmon, making it a must-try for any brunch enthusiast.
For those who prefer a bit of variety, Capri’s sourdough pizzas are a revelation, and unique to the Five Towns. The crust is perfectly crisp on the outside with a doughy interior, with just the right amount of chewiness, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. The Margherita Pizza is a classic favorite, with its simple yet delicious combination of fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. If you’re in the mood for something more unique, the Truffle Mushroom Pizza is a must-try, featuring a medley of mushrooms, truffle oil, and melted cheeses.
The salads are another highlight, offering a fresh and healthy option without compromising on taste. The Capri Salad, with its mix of greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and a tangy lemon vinaigrette, is a refreshing choice.
And let’s not forget their specialty items like Dirty Fries—crispy, loaded with beans, cheese, pico, and more – it was a favorite this past Father’s Day. The Truffle Parmesan Fries are also a decadent treat, with a generous sprinkling of truffle oil and Parmesan cheese, as is the Sweet Potato Fries, which are perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with a side of spicy mayo for dipping.
One of the best parts about Capri is that no reservations are needed. You can pop in anytime and enjoy their delicious offerings without the hassle of booking a table in advance. This convenience, combined with the quality of the food, makes Capri a fantastic choice for both spontaneous brunches and planned outings with family and friends.
Capri also offers a variety of other delightful dishes that cater to different preferences. For pasta and mushroom enthusiasts, the Pappardelle Mushroom Truffle is a must-try, with house-made wide noodle pasta, cream, mushroom, and truffle oil. If you’re in the mood for something more savory, the Avocado Toast is a hit, featuring creamy avocado spread on toasted sourdough, topped with a poached egg and a sprinkle of chili flakes.
There are other dishes I could highlight, like the Tuna Crispy Rice, Fish Tacos, Tuna Melt, and others that I also loved, but there’s only so much I can say without telling you to literally try anything on the menu. The food is legit.
If you haven’t visited Capri yet, it’s definitely worth checking out. From the first sip of coffee to the last bite of their delectable dishes, each visit promises a memorable dining experience. Capri is, without a doubt, a top contender for the best kosher brunch spot in the Five Towns year-round and a great option for a meal during the 9 Days this summer.
