4. Lotus S’mores Cubes by Victoria Dwek

Sometimes it’s a mini-ware that inspires the dessert instead of vice versa. Though you can definitely make this cookie butter version of s’mores in any individual dish, I think they’re really cute (and easy to make ahead and store!) in these little cube dishes. I’ve been preparing this updated version of a s’mores dessert often and it’s been a big hit. Make them dairy for your melavah malka or parve for any other event.

You don’t need a huge firepit to enjoy these gooey s’mores. This cookie recipe combines the two best things on the planet – chocolate chip cookies, and s’mores!

Don’t be intimidated by how many ingredients this recipe calls for, it’s a lot easier than you think. It’s also really fun to make if you have kids. It’ll keep them busy and the outcome is just amazing, and the best part is you don’t need to chill the dough first!

Growing up, I always thought marshmallows tasted like soap. I still think they do, but even though I don‘t like them by themselves, I absolutely LOVE them in s’mores. There’s just something about the warm chocolate and gooey marshmallow sandwiched in between two graham crackers that just feels like home.

11. S’mores Trifle by Victoria Dwek

This past August, I wrote about one of my favorite moments of my summer vacation, up somewhere in a remote mountain lodge (it’s inevitable that dozens of Jewish families happen to find the same remote spot). Every evening after dinner, we’d take the skewers, marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate bars I had brought along and stand around the campfire, trying to get a good toast on our marshmallows. It wasn’t easy. We usually caught the tail end of the fire, when the logs were all burnt out, and there were just a few sputtering flames. We fought for position to let the weak flames toast our marshmallows.   The best part was when the marshmallows caught on fire: real toastiness.   When I tasted  this dessert, I was back up in the mountains. But this time, I didn’t have to fight for the fire: because my kitchen torch is mine alone.

16. S’mores Parve Ice Cream Sandwiches by Sina Mizrahi

To me, “barbecue dessert” instantly translates to s’mores. There is no more fitting end to a summer cookout than the taste of burnt marshmallow and the crunch of graham crackers, contrasted with velvety melted chocolate. I gave this classic a twist, adding an ice cream element, because as far as I’m concerned, ice cream in the summer is compulsory. Best of all, these store well and can be made ahead of time.

Amazing combo! The flavors of the apple filling and s’mores ingredients come together to create a fantastic tasting dessert/miniature to present to your family and friends!
